Lakers silence Hornets, New Orleans Arena crowd in game 3

The Lakers came to New Orleans Arena and quickly took the crowd out of the game.

Kobe Bryant scored 30 points and Pau Gasol 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Lakers grabbed a 2-1 lead in the series with 100-86 win Friday night.

Gasol struggled in the first two games, but he came up with the biggest shot of the night in game 3. Gasol made only his second three pointer of the season, out of the right corner with 10:52 to play to give the Lakers a 78-70.

Carl Landry led the Hornets with 23 points, including 11 of 12 from the free throw line. Chris Paul scored 22 for the Hornets.

The Hornets' last lead was 6-4 in the first quarter. The Lakers dominated the paint, grabbing 14 offensive rebounds.

Game 4 is Sunday night at 8:30 at New Orleans Arena. Game 5 is Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
