St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in locating the car of Michael Showers, whose body was pulled from the Mississippi River on Wednesday. Showers had a recurring role on the HBO series "Treme" as a New Orleans Police officer.

The police report says that Showers’ girlfriend Melinda Carlos called deputies on Tuesday when Showers failed to return from having drinks the night before with someone named "Joe." She said she was worried about him, because he was suffering from depression and anxiety and had been diagnosed in March with Multiple Sclerosis and needed many medications.

While his body was found on Wednesday near the Toulouse Street Wharf, his car has not been located. The coroner has not determined what caused Showers' death.

Deputies say he was driving a 2002 black Infiniti G20 4-door, with tinted windows, with Louisiana plates TAP 099.

St. Bernard deputies ask anyone with information on the car to call 504-271-2501.
