Saints head coach Sean Payton arrived in Palm Beach for the annual NFL meetings, days before his scheduled season long suspension is to take place. Payton arrived via police escort about 8:45 this morning and was whisked to the back of the Breakers Hotel, far away from media cameras.

It is still unclear when or if Payton will address the media over his role in the Saints bounty program. Payton was suspended thru the Super Bowl in 2013 by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

A Saints source said that Payton is not expected to meet with Goodell at these meetings. But, Saints owner Tom Benson and owner/vice president Rita Benson LeBlanc are expected to meet with the league.

We are told that Payton is going to appeal his suspension, and that appeal could come before his suspension takes effect April 1st.

Benson has been here in Palm Beach since Friday. General manager Mickey Loomis is on also on site.
