High Cholesterol and Heart Attacks

Ben Shaw never believed that he would need a heart transplant at the age of twenty-six, but as a result of a gentic disorder that caused him to have extremely high cholesterol that resultes in cardiovascular disease. After living for more than year with a machine that pumped his heart Ben recieved a heart transplant and is living a healthy and happy life by eating healthy, excersing, and getting regular cholesterol check-ups.

According to the American Heart Association all adults 20 or older should have a total cholestrol profile done every five years, but if your total cholestrol is higher than 200, you are a man over 45, or a woman over 50, you should be tested every year.
