A McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy who once worked on a task force to protect children, now faces charges of producing child pornography and distributing it online.
This is the second time 36-year old Gregory Pyle has been arrested.
In January, he was placed on administrative leave, after he was accused of sexually assaulting a boy.
According to Michael Combs, chief of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s criminal division, Pyle allegedly forced a boy, a relative of his, to perform sex acts on him several times between 2006 and 2010. The boy was under the age of 13.
It is not clear if this was the same boy Pyle used to allegedly produce the pornography.
Pyle worked for the sheriff's office for more than 10 years. He is being held without bond until a detention hearing Friday.
If convicted, Pyle could face up to 30 years in prison.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
