A disability van that was stolen from a south suburban Harvey woman has turned up at the Robbins Police Department. Her collapsible wheelchair, however, was not inside
Andrea Florenz, 50, reported Friday that her specially-equipped van had been stolen. On Monday, tow truck drivers in suburban Robbins found the vehicle with the wheelchair ramp damaged and the keys still inside.
Florenz says she thinks someone made a copy of her car key, broke in and stole the van. All fees to get the car out of the pound were waived.
A couple in Naperville who first heard about the theft on WGN-TV have offered to replace Florenz's wheelchair. She's heading back to school to finish a degree in health administration in a few short weeks and will need a collapsible wheelchair to get there.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
