NORWALK, Ohio -- A man tried smuggling drugs into the Huron County Jail by taping marijuana to his genitals, police say.

According to Sgt. Hubbard, Kyle A. McConnell, of Norwalk, was arrested by Vermilion police officers Thursday morning during a traffic stop.

Police say he had several warrants out for his arrest. Officers than took McConnell to the Huron County Jail and asked him to change into a jail outfit.

It was there, Hubbard said, that one of the corrections officers noticed a lighter and a small amount of marijuana taped to McConnell's genitalia.

He has been charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Officials say Norwalk Law Directors are considering additional charges of conveyance of drugs into a detention facility.
