CLEVELAND -- Earlier this month, FOX 8 asked viewers to help shelter animals in need as part of our "Save These Faces on Facebook" campaign.

Our goal was to get 100,000 Facebook fans. If we achieved it, we'd donate $2,500 to the Cleveland APL's "Second Chance Fund."

We didn't reach our goal, but we came very close thanks to all of you! More than 44,000 viewers signed up, so FOX 8's own Dick Goddard presented the Cleveland APL with the check this week.

But just because we already made the donation, doesn't mean you can't still help!

The Second Chance Fund literally helps give sick and injured shelter animals another shot at life, so any donation might keep them alive!

Cleveland APL director, Sharon Harvey, expressed her gratitude towards the FOX 8 viewers after the check presentation.

"I just gotta say we couldn't be more grateful to Fox 8 and everyone who joined the fan page and for everything everybody did the awareness that was raised through doing this and not to mention this really generous donation that is helping us to help a lot of animals," Harvey said.

Thank you to all who joined our campaign and our Fox 8 Facebook page!
