An Indian man beats dents out of empty cans in Mumbai's Dharavi region, which is the city's recycling hub and Asia's largest slum. Redevelopment of the 535-acre district in India's financial capital has been stalled by the global economic crisis. Dharavi is believed to include about 15,000 single-room factories dealing with at least 80% of Mumbai's plastic recycling, as well as other recyclables.
