Thursday: Day in photos - India

Bird flu has struck an area of northeast India, leading to a culling operation. Here, members of a rapid response team conduct a culling operation in the village of Sarpara, about 30 miles from Guwahati city. About 46,500 backyard birds have been killed so far; poultry farms are also subject to the culling operation.
