Prime Minister David Cameron says Britain will hold a historic referendum on whether to stay in the European Union on June 23.

After a rare Cabinet meeting Saturday in London, Cameron said his ministers support his goal of keeping Britain inside the 28-nation bloc. He says Britain will be safer and stronger inside a reformed EU.

Cameron praised a deal that Britain reached Friday night in Brussels with other EU nations and told the British people the decision about their nation’s fate is now in their hands. He has promised to campaign for the nation to remain in the bloc.
