See starlings in a murmuration put on a flight show
This series of photos, taken in January by Menahem Kahana for AFP/Getty Images, shows starlings in flight near the city of Rahat, in Israel's Negev desert. The striking formations are known as a murmuration, which occurs when a flock of hundreds to thousands of starlings gather in an undulating and pulsing cloud-like formation. What patterns do you see?
