The Defense Department last week identified the following U.S. military personnel killed in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait:

Tracy Lynn Alger, 30, of New Auburn, Wis.; second lieutenant, Army. Alger was killed Nov. 1 when a roadside bomb exploded near her Humvee in Shubayshen, Iraq, south of Baghdad. She was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Ft. Campbell, Ky.

Kevin R. Bewley, 27, of Hector, Ark; petty officer second class, Navy. Bewley, a bomb-disposal technician, was killed Monday when an improvised explosive device detonated near him in Salahuddin province, Iraq, northwest of Baghdad. He was assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 11 in Oak Harbor, Wash.

Dwane A. Covert Jr., 20, of Tonawanda, N.Y.; private first class, Army. Covert was killed in a noncombat-related incident Nov. 3 when a cylindrical object exploded after he picked it up while cleaning up debris around his base in Al Sahra, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 104th Transportation Company, 13th Corps Support Sustainment Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division at Ft. Benning, Ga.

Carletta S. Davis, 34, of Anchorage; staff sergeant, Army. Davis was among four soldiers killed Monday when a roadside bomb exploded near their Humvee outside Kirkuk, Iraq, north of Baghdad. She was assigned to the 10th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

John D. Linde, 30, of New York; staff sergeant, Army. Linde was among four soldiers killed Monday when a roadside bomb exploded near their Humvee outside Kirkuk, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Adam J. Muller, 21, of Underhill, Vt.; private first class, Army. Muller was among four soldiers killed Monday when a roadside bomb exploded near their Humvee outside Kirkuk, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Christine M. Ndururi, 21, of Dracut, Mass.; specialist, Army. Ndururi died of an unspecified illness Tuesday at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. She was assigned to the 4th Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Daniel J. Shaw, 23, of West Seneca, N.Y.; sergeant, Army. Shaw was killed in an explosion Monday in Taji, Iraq, north of Baghdad. The Department of Defense said his death was under investigation. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Derek T. Stenroos, 24, of North Pole, Alaska; sergeant, Army. Stenroos was among four soldiers killed Monday when a roadside bomb exploded near their Humvee outside Kirkuk, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Benjamin D. Tiffner, 31, of West Virginia; captain, Army. Tiffner was killed Wednesday when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Ft. Campbell, Ky.

Lui Tumanuvao, 29, of Fagaalu, American Samoa; sergeant, Army. Tumanuvao was killed Wednesday when an improvised explosive device detonated near him in Arab Jabour, Iraq, southeast of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team at Ft. Stewart, Ga.

Johnny C. Walls, 41, of Bremerton, Wash.; sergeant first class, Army. Walls was killed Nov. 2 when his unit was attacked with small-arms fire in southern Afghanistan’s Uruzgan province. He was assigned to the 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division at Ft. Riley, Kan.
