Ukraine protests

Ukrainians who have been protesting in Kiev for more than two months in favor of closer ties to the European Union show their anger Friday over new laws that ban unauthorized demonstrations. The remnants of a public outpouring of dissent that drew hundreds of thousands to Kiev's Independence Square in November, several hundred gathered in defiance of the limits on free expression with their mouths "sewn up" and makeshift handcuffs symbolically restraining them.
