Former Giant Amani Toomer speaks to PIX11

Former Giant wide receiver stopped by the WPIX studios to talk about his newest feat: the 2010 ING New York City Marathon. Plus he dishes on Brandon Jacobs' latest issues, should head coach Tom Coughlin be worried about his job and should Plaxico Burress be released from jail?

Toomer, who is running the marathon for charity, is only the second former professional football player to attempt the 26.2 miles. According to the New York Road Runners, former Steelers receiver Lynn Swann ran a 4:26 in the marathon 17 years ago. Toomer said Timex, the sponsor of his effort, will donate $1 to the New York Road Runners youth programs for every person he passes. Toomer will start last. The marathon is November 7, 2010.

Toomer's last season with the Giants was in 2008. He explains the 2010 Giants need to improve their running game in order to be successful this season. Toomer adds the Giants don't need to do as much talking as the Jets and show how good they are on the field. He also tells us about a recent visit he made to former Giants receiver and teammate Plaxico Burress in jail. Burress is serving two years on gun possession charges.
