Angelo David Salon: Review

I walked in to the Angelo David Salon and was promptly greeted by courteous employee who gave me a salon robe and showed me where to hang my coat and store my bag.  I had to wait only moments in the waiting area before being led to the salon area.

I was introduced to the manicurist Mariana who helped me select my nail color.  Megan directed me to my chair and asked if I would like a glass of wine or perhaps some water.  I chose the former.

While Megan went to get the wine, Charlie introduced himself to me and took me to the shampoo station and thoroughly washed and conditioned my hair.  It was the kind of shampoo service where you get a great massage scalp and it felt just heavenly.  Charlie also took care to make sure the water didn’t leak down my back or spray all over my face.

Megan applied products to my damp hair that both added volume as well as protected it from heat.  She patiently answered all my questions about the various products.

Sheena then curled my hair with a large barreled curling iron.

All the while, during the shampoo, blow dry, and styling, Mariana was in there stealthily painting my nails to perfection.  She finished off the manicure with a delicious hand massage.

The salon had a vibrant buzz.  It was not so crowded that you couldn’t move, but it was an appropriately busy place for 4:30 on a Tuesday afternoon.

After I was made gorgeous, Cesar took me for a tour of the salon.  The salon is known for its couture hair extensions and additions.  The salon is incredibly respectful of client privacy issues with private shampoo areas for those suffering from hair loss.

I returned to the salon the following day for a consultation for extensions.  I met with Carlos who treated me like royalty.  He did an amazing job explaining what went into the process of extensions, if I would be right for them, how to maintain them, etc.  I had a million and one questions for him and he answered them all with a smile.

While Angelo David is a pricier salon than I would normally choose, it is worth the extra cost.  The service is impeccable and the staff is courteous and professional.  Angelo David himself came by at one point to introduce himself and he is charm personified.

Angelo David Salon is located in Midtown Manhattan ( 48 E. 43rd Street, 2nd Floor) and is a hop, skip, and a jump away from Grand Central Station so no matter where you live, it is easily accessible.

I would highly recommend anyone considering any type of hair service, whether natural or extension, Angelo David is the place you want to be if you want excellent results and fabulous service.
