According to the NYPD, three shots were fired just after 10:30 p.m. in the second floor hallway of 2735 Creston Avenue in the Bronx.

One bullet went through the child's apartment door and hit him in the stomach. The child's father was sleeping in the next room, according to police. He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.

Overnight, the Crime Scene Unit scoured the child's building looking for clues and police guarded evidence in the apartment building's lobby. But as of early Friday, police had not announced any suspects.
