Police say a Brooklyn day care center targeted by robbers Friday was being used as a drug haven.

The owner of the Special Moments Day Care in East Flatbush has been arrested and her husband is negotiating to surrender, said Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly.

"It appears now that the day care center was a repository for drugs and money," Kelly said. "And we're still counting the money that was found in there, it's over $100,000, and drugs also, marijuana for the most part was found in there. So that's what they were after."

Children were lying down for naps when two men burst into the center; a third man stayed outside as a lookout.

Police say they shot one suspect who pointed a gun at them. The two other suspects were later arrested.

No children were hurt.
