Officials: Woman Ran Illegal Boob, Butt Job Clinic Inside Bronx Apartment

A Bronx woman was arrested and charged for running an illegal boob and butt job clinic from inside her two-bedroom apartment, police said.

According to authorities, Whalesca Castillo was arrested Friday morning at her Inwood Avenue home in the Mount Eden section of the Bronx where she ran the apparent operation.

Officials say Castillo, 36, was being supplied the illegal silicon material - which she injected into clients specifically for breast and buttocks enhancement - that she had sent to her from an unnamed source in her native Dominican Republic. Police believe she has been receiving the substance, which was mailed through FedEx, for nearly two years.

Castillo, who does not hold a medical or nursing license of any kind in New York state, charged over $1,000 in some instances for each round of shots, officials said.

It wasn't immediately clear how many patients Castillo had operated on and injected the illegal substance with.

In one case, a woman who received injections from Castillo fainted within hours of the procedure. After being revived by her boyfriend, the patient called Castillo to report her medical symptoms. According to authorities, Castillo discouraged the woman from seeking proper medical attention saying that a hospital would not treat her because the procedure was illegal.

Castillo is being charged with one count of distributing an adulterated or misbranded product. She faces a maximum of three years in prison if convicted.
