A heated bottle-throwing, smack-talking brawl inside a New York City nightclub between the entourages of R&B singer Chris Brown and rapper Drake ended in several injuries including a nasty bloody gash Chris Brown received to his face.
The scuffle broke out inside W.I.P. in the West Village just before 4 a.m. Thursday and it was prompted over words exchanged about Brown's ex, Rihanna, publish reports said.
Sources tell GlobalGrind.com, the fight between the two camps started after Brown sent over a bottle to Drake's table. The rapper apparently did not take the gesture kindly and personally sent the bottle back.
After exchanging words about Rihanna, Global Grind reports: "Drake punched Chris Brown in the face, and hit him in the mouth with a bottle before he could retaliate from the punch.
A source told the New York Post that at some point during the verbal exchange Drake told Brown "I'm f--kng the love of your life [Rihanna], deal with it." The remark sent Brown into a Tizzy, witnesses said.
Soon after, utter chaos erupted inside the nightclub where the two camps allegedly threw punches and bottles.
When NYPD officers arrived to the scene, a majority of the members from both camps including Drake and Brown had already left. As many as 4 clubgoers were transported to a nearby hospital for lacerations and minor injuries as a result of the alleged bottle-throwing, the New York Daily News reported.
Among the injured was an Australian tourist identified as "Hollie C." According to TMZ, the 24-year-old was hanging out and having a good time when the brawl suddenly broke out.
"Within a few moments of noticing glass being thrown around, I saw a glass bottle headed towards me; consequently hitting me in the head," she told TMZ. "I immediately started to bleed and proceeded to fall in and out of consciousness."
Brown, who infamously assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 in a bloody beat down, took to Twitter where he posted a photo of the gash he received when a bottle struck his face.
"How u party with rich n***** that hate? Lol ... Throwing bottles like girls? #shameonya!" Brown tweeted.
The image and tweet were later deleted.
Clubgoers who remained on the scene well after cops arrived also tweeted photos of the aftermath that showed the posh nightclub in shambles.
