Scorching Heat Sends New Yorkers To Cooling Centers


Those struggling in the heat in the Bronx head to the cooling center on East 181st Street in Fordham to find relief.

As the temperature skyrockets, more and more cooling centers open up. Most can be found at community or senior centers throughout the city. They are temporary air-conditioned places where people can find a bit of relief from the sun.
