Lawmakers gathered on Queens Boulevard on Tuesday to alert the public about a sex attack over the weekend.
According to police, on Easter Sunday, April 8th at 5:45am, a 30-year-old woman was attacked near 39-08 46th Street in Sunnyside.
A good samaritan, Mike Novak, told PIX11 that he heard the victim call for help and ran outside - but the suspect got away.
The suspect has been described as a Hispanic man in his late 20s.
NYC Council Speaker Christine Quinn, NYC Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer, Congressman Joe Crowley and others handed out fliers with information about the attack, and urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
