A woman is dead after being stabbed by her ex-husband in a Midtown beauty salon Thursday afternoon, police said.

The suspect, an ex-convict named Michael Kenny, 42, entered D'Galina's Unisex Salon at 161 West 35th street on 7th avenue at 3:30 p.m. and asked to talk to 41-year-old Denise Kenny, of Rockaway Park, Queens, police said.

He wanted to speak to his ex-wife in private, witnesses told police, so the two went into a bathroom in the salon where he allegedly stabbed her multiple times and stole what money she had in her purse.

After leaving the bathroom he stole the money out of the salon's cash register on his way out, officers said.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police are now looking for Michael Kenny, whose last address was in Queens. He is approximately 6'1" tall, 230 lbs. and has blue eyes, blonde hair and a goatee. He left the salon wearing a black wool coat, blue jeans and a blue hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information in regards to this homicide is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
