An early morning home invasion on Tuesday turned into a shootout that left one intruder dead in the Wakefield section of the Bronx.

At 12:13 a.m., police say four men were attempting to rob a house located at 1704 Bussing Avenue when one of the home's occupants turned the tables and opened fire on the intruders, using their own gun.

According to cops, the victim managed to out-power one of the suspects, snatching their gun and in turn shooting two of them.

One intruder was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other man, a 28-year-old, was shot once in the back and once in the head. The two other suspects managed to flee, police said.

EMS transported the wounded man to Jacobi Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made and police are still investigating the incident.

Reports say a quarter pound of marijuana and firearms were recovered in the apartment.
