Lala Vasquez, who stars on VH!'s "Lala's Full Court Life," stopped by to talk about her new acting role in the off-Broadway play "Love, Loss and What I Wore."
"Love, Loss, and What I Wore" is written by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, and based on the bestselling book by Ilene Beckerman and the recollections of Nora and Delia's friends.
The show opened in October 2009 at the Westside Theatre in NYC (407 W 43 Street), where it has broken all box office records and just celebrated its two year anniversary!
The show is produced by Daryl Roth, who holds the singular distinction of producing six Pulitzer Prize-winning plays. (August: Osage County, Proof, Wit, How I Learned to Drive, Anna in the Tropics and Edward Albee's Anna in the Tropics)
The show is an intimate collection of stories about clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger.
It's a great "girl's night out" show! Women absolutely love it, and want to stay in the theatre when it's over to discuss their own stories and memories triggered by their clothing. But you can take your boyfriends and husbands too!
Love, Loss, and What I Wore won the 2010 Drama Desk Award for Best Unique Theatrical Experience.
In September 2011, Love, Loss, and What I Wore kicked off its first national tour at Chicago's Broadway Playhouse theatre. In addition to its Off Broadway run, the show has already played in Los Angeles, Toronto, Sydney, The Philippines, Paris and more.
The show features a rotating cast of five women, who perform in four-week cycles.
The current cast (October 5 - 30) is La La Anthony, Dee Hoty, Samantha Mathis, Zuzanna Szadkowski and Concetta Tomei, but the show continues with a new cast after that.
One hundred actresses, including Samantha Bee, Alexis Bledel, Kristin Chenoweth, Tyne Daly, Fran Drescher, Janeane Garofalo, Melissa Joan Hart, Carol Kane, Minka Kelly, Stacy London, Jane Lynch, Natasha Lyonne, AnnaLynne McCord, Anne Meara, Rosie O'Donnell, Rhea Perlman, Caroline Rhea, Doris Roberts, Tracee Ellis Ross, Sherri Shepherd, Brooke Shields, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Cobie Smulders, Rita Wilson and many more, have all done the show since it opened.
