Police are looking for the gunman who opened fire on a Bronx mother who was loading her two daughters into an SUV while on their way to school Monday, PIX News has learned.

According to authorities, Lakisha Scriven, 30, was shot execution style near the family's home on Furman Avenue in the Wakefield section of the Bronx some time after 7:15 a.m. Her children, who watched the tragedy in horror, were left unharmed.

Responding officers discovered the victim with a gunshot wound to the head laying in a pool of her own blood. Scriven was transported to Jacobi Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses say the suspect fled the scene after opening fire on the victim. Based on the circumstance, police believe Scriven was an intended target and this was in no way a random act of violence

Neighbors tell PIX News that Scriven was an employee for the Administration for Children's Services.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call police.
