MTA Removing Subway Trash Cans

Travel

The MTA is extending their plan to get rid of rodents by removing trash cans from subway stations.

The transit authority says in eight more stations - two each in the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens will become trash can free on Sept. 2.

This plan has already been tested at 2 stations: One on Main Street in Flushing and 8th Street in Manhattan.

The MTA says the trash problem has been reduced at those stations and less trash means fewer rodents.
