A former high school track star is clinging to life after he was mowed down by an aspiring model who was reportedly behind the wheel high on drugs.

Daniel Kelley, 23, and his girlfriend Gina Siclari, 18, were jogging along Hylan Boulevard in Staten Island around 5 p.m. Tuesday when 34-year-old Gypsy Porfirio, of Brooklyn, struck the couple with her vehicle, police said.

Kelly was rushed to Staten Island University Hospital in critical condition. He suffered severe head and chest trauma. Siclari suffered a broken ankle, scrapes and bruises.

Porfirio, who stayed on the scene, reportedly told police she took the painkiller Percocet and the anti-anxiety medicine Xanax before getting into the drivers seat. Porfirio is charged with driving under the influence and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She suffered minor injuries in the crash.

In addition, police found the sleep-aid Ambien inside Porfiro's vehicle.

Kelley was a star athlete at St. Joseph-By-The-Sea High School and is currently employed as a special education teacher at P.S. 16 in Tompkinsville.

Siclari graduated from St. Joseph-By-The-Sea last year and currently attends St. Francis College in Brooklyn.
