Actor David Giuntoli stopped by to talk about his role as detective Nick Burkhardt in the TV show "Grimm."
Classic Grimm's fairy tales come to life like never before in the "dark and imaginative" (Mike Ayers, CNN.com) supernatural series "GRIMM," from the producers of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Available on Blu-ray and DVD on August 7, 2012, "GRIMM" Season One allows fans to experience all 22 chilling episodes back-to-back and uninterrupted. The second season of GRIMM just debuted on Monday, August 13.
Homicide detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli, "Privileged," "Grey's Anatomy") discovers he is descended from a long line of criminal profilers known as "Grimms," protectors who are charged with keeping the balance between humanity and the creatures of myth. With newly awoken abilities to detect the evil lurking among us, Nick struggles to keep his old life separate and safe as he becomes ever more entrenched in the ancient rivalries of the Grimm world.
David Giuntoli was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He was educated at St. Louis University High School and moved on to Indiana University Bloomington, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in International Business and Finance.
Giuntoli relocated to Los Angeles to forge a career in acting, and joined the Echo Theater Company. His first television appearances, however, were on reality shows "The Challenge" (1998) and "Road Rules" (1994). Acting success followed with roles in, amongst others, "Privileged" (2008) and "Eli Stone" (2008). In 2011, Giuntoli was cast in the leading role of Nick Burckhardt in NBC's "Grimm" (2011).Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
