Palmeiro slugged a double July 15, 2005 for the Baltimore Orioles to reach the hallowed 3,000 mark. Palmeiro, originally from Havana, Cuba, was also a great power hitter. He joined Hank Aaron, Willie mays, and Eddie Murray as the only players to get 3,000 hits and 500 home runs in his career.
