Woman Shot In The Chest By Stray Bullet While Taking A Walk

A woman walking with her husband in the Morrisania Section of the Bronx was shot in the chest just after 8 p.m. Friday, according to police, who are now looking for the shooter.

The unidentified 20-year-old victim happened to be walking near 967 East 167 Street when she saw a fight break out between a group of men. Police say that when shots suddenly rang out the woman looked down and realized she had been shot in the chest.

Emergency Medical Services took her to Lincoln Hospital where she is now in stable condition.

Police describe the gunman as a black male, 18-24 and 6'3" tall, who was last seen wearing an orange jacket, blue jeans, green hooded sweatshirt and a green-and-orange hat.
