Bill Toth joined the FOX43 News at Ten team in 2007. He came to WPMT after a stay at WJET/WFXP-TV in Erie, PA where he served as the weekend sports anchor and reporter. Prior to that, he had stints at both Comcast SportsNet and WTTG FOX 5, both based in Washington DC. Bill also serves as a contributing columnist with the Pittsburgh Sports Report and as a reporter for the Sports Network.
In his career, Bill has covered the US Open golf tournament, the NBA and NHL playoffs, the NCAA basketball tournament plus numerous NFL and MLB games. Although Bill enjoys covering professional sports, it is the local stories and local people that intrigue him the most.
Bill got into the broadcasting field after he advanced through several rounds of ESPN's Dream Job series. Before that, he was a school counselor and coach at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland.
Bill is a Pittsburgh native and he holds a bachelors and masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a graduate certificate from Johns Hopkins University.
Bill and his wife Kirsten have two daughters, Tatum and Reese, and he enjoys spending as much time with his family as humanly possible.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
