Police: Woman passing counterfeit travelers checks in Dauphin County

Police say a woman has cashed or attempted to cash counterfeit American Express Travelers Cheques at several Dauphin County businesses. The suspect, shown on these surveillance pictures, is described as a middle aged black female with a husky build, approximately 5'0" tall, 160 lbs, wearing jeans and a long sleeve white shirt. She is believed to be driving a silver Nissan Altima or Ford Taurus-style vehicle.

She passed the bad checks at the following businesses: CVS Pharmacy, 130 Hockersville Road, Rite Aid Pharmacy, 337 West Chocolate Avenue, and Turkey Hill Stores located on U.S. 322 and on Middletown Road. Investigators report similar investigations occurring in Lower Swatara Township, Middletown Borough and Highspire Borough.

Anyone with information is requested to call the Derry Township Police Department at 717-534-2202. A reward of up to $2,000.00 may be offered through Dauphin County Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest in these investigations.
