Lancaster Police credit surveillance video in helping make an arrest in a series of city business robberies. Two of the businesses, Royer's Flowers, 873 North Queen street, and J.A. Sharp Jeweler, 322 North Queen street were robbed on January 4. Park's Grocery, 301 West Vine street was robbed the next day, January 5.
With surveillance video from one of the businesses, and surveillance footage provided by the Lancaster Community Safety Coalition, investigators were able to identify 45 year old Juan Gonzalez. Gonzalez, parolee, was arrested on Monday at the Pennsylvania State Parole office with incident. Charges against Gonzalez include 3 counts of Robbery and 1 count of Criminal Conspiracy. Gonzalez was committed to Lancaster County Prison on an unrelated parole violation.
Police say their investigation is ongoing and they are looking for a second suspect, who acted as an accomplice in at least one of the three robberies. Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact the Lancaster City Police at (717) 735-3300.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
