Before Barack Obama was even officially nominated as the democratic presidential candidate, he spoke to students on a Lancaster college campus.

Today, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology students like Todd Chin say that visit made an impact on them.

"It's a privilege to attend a school he visited not too long ago. It's a beautiful thing."

Students like Joel Ayala say seeing the President-elect on their campus in March, and watching him take time to greet them was a political turning point.

"He took time to come outside and talk to students, which was amazing."

Many of the students who saw Obama were first time voters.
