Corwin Brown standoff

In August, police and SWAT responded to the home of former Notre Dame football defensive coach Corwin Brown. Brown, his wife and three children were in the home. After a 7-hour standoff, Brown surrendered but not before shooting himself in the stomach. His family released a statement saying they believe he is suffering from symptoms similar to those experienced by the late Notre Dame and NFL player Dave Duerson, who had a disease as the result of repeated blows to the head and committed suicide. Brown is facing charges.
