Southbury Shooting Leads to Lockdown At Warren School

A shooting in Southbury today led to a lockdown at the Warren Elementary School, state police said.

The shooting happened shortly after 1 p.m. in Southbury, Sgt. Chris Johnson said. He didn't know if the victim was fatally injured, nor did he know the circumstances of the shooting.

Later, the Warren Elementary School, 21 Sackett Hill Road, was reportedly in a lockdown, he said. The school is about 24 miles from Southbury.

State Police said there was no problem at the school, however the suspects car was found in the area on Route 341. Parents were asked to go to the school and pick up their own children. The State Police were maintaining security at the school.
