Tractor Trailer Vs Car Crash In Wallingford Sends Three Teens To Hospital

Police are investigating a serious motor vehicle crash involving three teenagers and tractor trailer.

At 4 p.m., police said that a 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass was traveling on East Center Street when it crossed the yellow centerline and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer.

The driver of the vehicle, Daniel Vardon, 18 of Wallingford was taken to MidState Medical Center and was treated and released. Marcus Massaro, 18, of Wallingford, who was ejected from car, was treated for serious injures at the scene and taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he is in stable condition. The other passenger, Kayla Brangiero 19 of Meriden, was taken to Yale-New Haven was treated and released. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

The crash caused damage to both vehicles and ruptured the 100-gallon fuel tank on the tractor trailer. The diesel fuel leak was contained by the fire department and cleaned up by DEP.
