1) The Stone House Restaurant
With the summer months comes the lure to the shoreline for outdoor dining. For the Stone House in Guilford, which sits on the picturesque Guilford Marina, the view came first. "The view inspired me to open the restaurant. We saw it and thought ‘How can this restaurant not do well?'" says owner Jim Quinlivan. "On clear days you'll see Long Island," he says. The food at the Stone House is classic New England fare. "It's a slice of New England," says Quinlivan. After having recovered from Hurricane Irene last August, the building has been totally refurbished. Coming up will be some menu changes and the opening of the Little Stone House next door.
