The City of Hartford will be hosting a city wide event filled with hundreds of free activities and great entertainment on September 29 in an effort to transform Hartford into a cultural attraction.
The IQuilt Partnership and supporting arts, businesses and community organizations are gearing up to present this event entitled EnvisionFest Hartford to the city, giving the citizens the opportunity to experience the vibrant arts community. Envisionfest will kick off at 9 a.m with the 2012 Discover Hartford Bicycle Tour organized by Bike/Walk Connecticut where an estimated 1,000 riders will begin their tours on Elm Street at 9 a.m. Entertainment will be provided throughout the day along the GreenWalk starting from 11 am to 8:30 p.m. featuring an under the stars performance by The Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
Free entertainment and tours will take place in various locations including the Wadsworth Atheneum (where acclaimed Northampton band Winterpills, pictured, will play at 6 p.m.), Hartford Stage, and Connecticut Science Center. Free Parking will be available at Hartford Parking beginning at 9 a.m at the Hartford Parking Authority and other locations.
