Nice to know that Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra is at the cutting edge when it comes to government hypocracy.
The Hartford Courant is reporting that Segarra has put a gag order on all city employees, ordering them not to talk to reporters without getting it cleared with his office first.
Yep, this is the same Mayor Segarra who pledged to bring transparency to Hartford city government. The purpose of the gag order, he explains, is that he wants to have only a "unified message" coming out of his administration.
Funny, but that "unified message" stuff sounds a lot more like something coming out of North Korea than a democratically elected American official.
Hmmm. Transparency and gag orders? Does that mean we'll be able to see city employees not telling the truth?Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
