10 Point Coalition to meet with city leaders about IMPD issues

For the second day in a row, Indianapolis ministers met with Public Safety Director Dr. Frank Straub to discuss the rift between residents and the IMPD.

Religious leaders say the black community is upset that Officer Jerry Piland was not fired by the police merit board last week for the beating of a teenager during an arrest in May.

"Well, obviously we talked about all of the major issues that we're facing right now... About the issue with Brandon Johnson the merit board, the Officer Bisard situation and how all those issues kinda tie together," said Rev. Charles Harrison with the 10 Point Coalition.

The ministers say they're concerned that rank and file police officers and the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) have seized control of the department from the chief, Director Straub and Mayor Ballard.
