More than 10 million pop tabs were collected downtown Friday.

Volunteers from all around the state descended on Monument Circle for the 8th Annual Ronald McDonald House Pop Tab Drop.

The money raised from recycling the pop tabs will be used to help families of seriously ill and injured children.

The event included music, the world's largest pop tab, photos and a special appearance by the one and only, Ronald McDonald.

“This is amazing. We look forward to this event every year. We have such great support and people just love this event. It's fun, it's something that a lot of people actually get into,” said Kelly Thien, volunteer.

The Ronald McDonald House has recycled more than one billion pop tabs since the program began.
