The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter will host a kickoff event and party on Thursday, August 2.

The party will take place from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at City Market in downtown Indianapolis. There will be live music, prizes and other festivities.

"The Walk to EndAlzheimer's™ Kickoff is a great opportunity to rally supporters and build momentum for the nation's largest event to fight Alzheimer's,” said Leslie Bush, senior development specialist for the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter.

The Alzheimer’s Association hopes to rally supporters and build momentum for the nation’s largest event to fight Alzheimer’s, the nation’s sixth leading cause of death.

“There has never been a greater need for Hoosiers to join our movement," said Bush. "Funds raised will provide care and support services to the 120,000 residents of Indiana living with Alzheimer’s, while also contributing to advancing critically-needed research.”

The Indianapolis Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held on Sunday, October 14 at noon at Military Park. About 4,000 people from the Indianapolis area are expected to attend this year’s walk.
