Brownsburg keeps rolling through the Crossroads

BROWNSBURG - Brett Comer makes no secret that his team wants to finish the season without a number in the right-hand column.

Yet to do so he continued throughout the season to preach patience to his Brownsburg team in his quest to get there.

"One inch in front of our face and play-by-play," said the Bulldogs' head coach when it comes to approaching each game. "That's what they've done."

So far in 2012, the number of times they have is at eight.

On Friday they took down their last challenger in the Hoosiers Crossroads conference the same way they have all season long-with rushing and defense. Both were critical in a 14-0 win over Zionsville at home Friday night, a victory that gave Brownsburg the conference championship outright with a game left to play.

"It's amazing, first time since 1994," said quarterback Ian Good, pointing out the long wait for the school to capture a title. "Can't think of anything better."

Good had one of the two rushing touchdowns for the Bulldogs in the first half that would produce all the scoring they would need. At 8-0 Brownsburg is a full two-game ahead of their next competitor in conference and can finish up undefeated if they can knock off Fishers on the road next week.

"There's only been four of them in the history of Brownsburg," said Comer of undefeated teams. "Our kids want that 9-0."
