The Indiana Pacers saw their competitive NBA playoffs series with the Chicago Bulls come to a rough end Tuesday night. It was the team's first playoff appearance in nearly five years.
Derrick Rose helped push the Bulls up 14 near the end of the first quarter. His sprained ankle from the previous game seemed to be no trouble. After the first quarter, it kept going downhill for the Blue and Gold. The Bulls defeated the Pacers 116-89 in Game 5. The Bulls now advance to play either Atlanta or Orlando.
The Pacers' Danny Granger scored 20 points and Tyler Hansbrough added 14 points and 11 rebounds. It wasn't enough though. The Pacers trailed the entire game and the 21 turnovers didn't help their cause. Josh McRoberts was ejected from the game after throwing an elbow at Joakim Noah.
The Pacers are now looking forward to next season. Two big questions still loom: Will Larry Bird return as team president and did interim Head Coach Frank Vogel earn a permanent slot to lead the team next season? We'll wait and see.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
