Monday night, the City-County Council is scheduled to vote on a proposed downtown parking meter lease. The lease would go to a Dallas, Texas-based company called Affiliated Computer Services (ACS).

The company has estimated the 50-year contract will make $620 million and create 200 jobs not related to the parking plan. The new meters in downtown and Broad Ripple will add the use of debit and credit cards.

For a fee, the city can cancel the contract early.
