Brownsburg stays on "Guard" in fifth win

BROWNSBURG - A strong start to their season has everyone gunning for the team in purple.

But just as they have all season long, Brownsburg has remained on guard and has prevented a letdown five weeks into the 2012 season-and when you say on "Guard" they literally were on Friday night.

Sporting cameoflage jerseys in support of the Indiana National Guard, the Bulldogs continued to be the class of the Hoosier Crossroads Conference by beating Avon 24-8 on Friday night.

In front of a strong home crowd Brownsburg jumped out to a 24-0 lead on their way to improving their record to 5-0 on the season. That keeps them a game ahead of both Fishers and Zionsville in the Crossroads standings after both those teams won games on Friday.

The Bulldogs will face Lafayette Jeff at home in Week 6 while the Orioles will return home to face Noblesville hoping to improve their record to 4-2.
