Two-time Indy 500 winner arrested for reckless driving, DWI

Al Unser Jr.

Racing legend Al Unser Jr. was arrested Thursday morning in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The two-time Indy 500 winner was reportedly drag racing another car in his suburban at 3 a.m. and was going more than 100 miles per hour.

Unser has been charged with reckless driving and DWI. He was released on his own recognizance.

This isn't the first run-in with the law for Unser Jr.

In 2002, Unser got drunk and was arrested for hitting his girlfriend and leaving her on the side of an Indianapolis highway.

Five years later, he was charged with drunken driving after his SUV sideswiped another car on a Nevada interstate.

His blood alcohol level was at point .22, nearly three times the legal limit.
