Chan, Li Find New Apprentice

"Sky High" star Michael Angarano is in negotiations to co-star opposite Jackie Chan and Jet Li in the martial arts legends' upcoming feature.

Rob Minkoff ("The Lion King") is directing the film, currently called only the untitled J&J project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the plot of the J&J teaming focuses on an aspiring young kung-fu warrior (Angarano) who gets pummeled by a rival street gang and then he gets sent back in time to ancient China where he... meets up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Nope. Wrong movie.

The young man actually gets sent on a mission to free the Monkey King (Li).

The film is set to begin production in China in early May.

Angarano has a supporting role on "24" earlier this season and has been seen in features including "Lords of Dogtown" and "One Last Thing." His upcoming credits include "Snow Angels" and "The Final Season."
